Yara’s been cutting hair for over four years, taking her craft from Australia to Asia and everywhere in between. At Lokel Hair Studio, she mastered long, curly textures, and at Crows Nest she sharpened her fade game — blending precision with creativity and keeping a soft spot for curls.

In her chair, every cut is personal. She’s all about listening and making sure your style feels like you, not just your hair. And don’t be surprised if you find yourself in one of those random, deep conversations along the way.

WHO?

Bartnik’s focuses on traditional barbering practices, fully embracing Vancouver’s local barbering history and community. Our shop location has been a place to grab cuts for the last century, and some of you may even remember it as Rattee’s Hairstyling or the Velvet Hair Lounge. We’re humbled to have the privilege of continuing to barber out of this heritage space.

Our haircutting ethos is simple. We’re about that no fuss, professional cut at an affordable price. From fancy to handy, we do all sorts of short cuts in a casual and welcoming atmosphere.

Got a story or photographs from the time before? We’d love to hear it. Come in for a cut and a yarn, tell us all about it.
